One way my husband and I like to stay active and healthy is hiking. We can literally spend hours hiking beautiful mountain trails and often take trips to areas known for pristine scenery. We have been all over the states; my personal favorite areas are southern Utah (more specifically Zion National Park) and New England, especially during the fall.
Next spring however, we are taking a trip we both are ecstatic about: the Haute Route in the Swiss Alps. We plan on hiking each day to a new town and staying at a different, charming chalet each day.
Start hiking much like you would any other exercise; start small and work towards more. Start with short hikes and each week work up to longer, more difficult hikes. Happy hiking!
